Best Corona Vaccine: Covaxin Vs Covishield Vs Sputnik V – Which is best in India
CoronaVirus is a disease that is not affecting old people only but also all generations. This virus is transmitted in different ways and the common symptoms are dry cough, headache, and loss of smell. So, to be safe from severe illness and death vaccination is very important. Recently many death cases have been in the news because of the Covid-19. People are not having much knowledge about the three vaccines which are now available in India. They are now confused as to which corona vaccine will be good for them. In this article, we will tell you briefly about all the vaccines one by one.
Difference between Covaxin, Covishield and Sputnik V
There are three coronavirus vaccines which we will guide you with and will tell which will suit you.
It is the first corona vaccine (Covid-19 Vaccine) developed by Bharat Biotech known as dead cells. Through this Vaccine, the person does not get sick but makes immunity strong so that they can fight any virus. Covaxin is introduced in India first. The second dose of this vaccine is given 28 days after the first Jab. It can be stored at 2-8 Degrees so that the storage facility is comfortable. This is applicable to all those who are above 18 years of age. They have now started clinical trials in children who are above 2 years of age. It is used for a restricted purpose that is for an emergency.
The manufacturer of this vaccine is the Serum Institute of India which has modified organisms. The time gap between the first doses to the second doses is longer as compared to Covaxin which can be 12 to 16 weeks. This Vaccine is made from the Chimpanzees adenovirus. Covishield has side effects like fatigue, chills, pain, headache, etc. There are other side effects that are not so common like abdominal pain, sweating. The Covishield has sodium chloride, sucrose, which were produced in Pune (Maharashtra).
Sputnik V is the world’s first covid medicine which is made in Russia. V stands for Vaccine. Like other vaccines, this Vaccine is also a viral vector. It is different from other vaccines in terms of dosage. There is a very little gap between the first dose to the second gap. It is only 21 days. You should first register yourself to have Sputnik V. Soon it will be produced in India. This vaccine has been approved in 60 countries. The side effects are less like sore arm and mild temperature.
Who should go for Vaccination?
The vaccination is for above 18 years of age. Earlier it started with 45 years and above. Those women who are pregnant or nursing their babies who have some past history of some allergic reaction should take proper advice from a doctor. If you have a fever then you should first go for a covid test and then go for vaccination otherwise you will have very bad side effects.
Covaxin Vs Covishield Efficacy Percentage
Covaxin has an efficacy of 81 percent in the 3rd phase. This is the reason it is now globally used. The Covishield has 70 percentage efficacy rates. Earlier Covishield vaccine (best efficacy corona vaccine) showed that when people got a half dose, then full dose the efficacy was 90 percent. After that, there was no proof so uncleared data suggested that if there is a longer gap between 2 doses then the effectiveness increases.
Which Vaccine is Better- Covaxin or Covishield
It is very difficult to decide which vaccine will be better as both of them have similar features and purposes. We have given you a brief idea about their usage, doses, and efficacy also, so kindly take vaccination whether it is Covaxin or Covishield. It has also been observed that after the two doses of Covishield antibodies are more produced as compared to Covaxin and showed a good seropositivity rate also but this research was not clear as the second shot of Covaxin closes the gap with Covishield antibodies. It is heard that after 2 doses the seropositivity rates were 97.8 percent in Covishield and 79.3 in Covaxin. After some time Covaxin closed the gap and gained a high rate of antibodies after 2 doses. So both the vaccine has their own significance. You can go for any of the vaccines as both are right. Covishield is more preferred for older people as it is safe for them. Right now getting vaccinated is the best option than not opting for any vaccine.
How sputnik v is different from other Vaccines?
Sputnik V is the third corona vaccine that helps in decreasing the time for immunity to take place to fight against SARS-CoV-2, which is the main virus behind Covid-19. According to the Russian State; it does not have any side effects so far. The single dose of Sputnik V has an efficacy of 79.4 percent. It has proven effective till now against new strains of Covid -19 and is safe for our bodies. In this Vaccine, rAd26 and rAd5 are used for the first and second Vaccines. There is no fear of infection in this vaccine. This vaccine is costlier as compared to the other two vaccines. It is stored at a temperature of 2 to 8 degrees Celsius.
